Simon Blais is an attorney, accredited mediator and arbitrator. He also holds a Master in Business Administration (MBA) from Durham University, United Kingdom.
In the course of his practice, Me Blais acts mainly as a mediator in civil, commercial and labour issues. He assists parties in the process of alternative dispute resolution. He acts notably in disputes resolution between shareholders, directors, officers, employees and stakeholders. In addition, he assists the parties in negotiating agreements and commercial partnerships.
Me Blais also acts as an arbitrator in civil and commercial litigation at the provincial, national and international levels. He also acts as an arbitrator, chair and member of adjudicative committees for disputes and complaints within sports and recreation federations.
In addition, Me Blais acts as legal advisor and external consultant for several organizations notably in litigation, corporate organization, governance, international development and project management.
Prior to his practice within Blais Legal Services Inc., Me Blais was the Founder and Managing Director of Stratco International Limited, a business consulting firm based in Barbados. He was then advising his international clientele on a variety of business and organizational issues.
Me Blais has practiced as an attorney during several years within private firms in Montreal, advising several companies of the S&P 500 as well as smaller organizations on management and legal issues. He represented major insurers before courts in litigation matters. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Orchestre Metropolitain (Montreal, Canada) for 4 years.
